On Writing and Water: How I Taught Myself to Tell Stories

June 29, 2025

I didn’t go to school for writing, but I’ve always had a love for language. The way words move like water — sometimes calm, sometimes crashing — fascinates me. Most of what I’ve learned about storytelling came from reading others, listening closely, and then experimenting with my own voice.

I write because it grounds me. It’s how I process the world. I tinker with prose like I would a filtration system — carefully, intentionally, making adjustments until the whole thing runs smooth.

Whether it’s a short story, a blog post, or my in-progress novel, writing gives me a way to connect. And just like in aquaculture, the smallest tweaks often lead to the biggest results.
