Road Trips, Risk, and the Decision to Trust

May 25, 2025

A few months ago, I made a choice that felt riskier than any dive I’ve done: I chose to be emotionally open with someone. Dating isn’t something I rush into, and the decision to see where things went required trust — both in them and in myself.

The outcome? We built something based on mutual respect, communication, and clearly defined boundaries. It wasn’t flashy or dramatic, just real.

In many ways, it reminded me of my favorite kind of road trips: unplanned, a little uncertain, but always worth the ride. Sometimes, the most meaningful journeys don’t start with a map — they start with a yes.
